Product Specifications and Uses
  • Uses:

  • Road Construction:
Class 2 Road Base is commonly used as a foundational layer in road construction projects. It provides stability, support, and drainage for the upper layers of the road.
  • Driveways:
This material is often used as a base layer for driveways due to its ability to withstand heavy loads and provide a solid foundation.
  • Bocce Ball Courts:
Class 2 Road Base is also used in building bocce ball courts. It creates a stable and compact surface that helps with ball rolling and gameplay.

  • How to Use in Building a Bocce Ball Court:
    1. Site Preparation: Clear the area where the bocce ball court will be located. Ensure the ground is relatively level and free from debris.
    2. Excavation: Excavate the area to a depth of about 4-6 inches. This allows space for the road base layer and ensures proper compaction.
    3. Adding Class 2 Road Base: Spread a layer of 3/4" Class 2 Road Base evenly over the excavated area. The thickness of this layer will depend on the specific requirements of your court, but a 3-4 inch layer is generally suitable.
    4. Compaction: Use a compactor or roller to compact the road base layer. This helps in achieving a solid and stable surface. Compact in layers if necessary.

  • Coverage:
  • The coverage of 3/4" Class 2 Road Base varies based on the compaction achieved and the specific characteristics of the material. Generally,
    • A ton of this material can cover approximately 80 to 100 square feet when spread at a depth of 3 inches.
    • A cubic yard (which is equivalent to 1.25 tons) should cover around 100 to 120 square feet at a depth of 3 inches.
